There is no official Frets on Fire version for Android. Vanilla Frets on Fire was released for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, and no Android port was ever published by Unreal Voodoo. The same is true of FoFiX. Any site offering a “Frets on Fire APK” is offering an unofficial repackaging at best — do not install it, and do not trust it with your device.
What to play on Android instead
- Clone Hero has Android builds and plays with touch or a connected controller — it is the closest honest answer to “Frets on Fire on my phone”.
- YARG also lists Android among its platforms via its launcher ecosystem.
- Fortnite Festival runs on mobile through Fortnite, with touch controls and, on supported devices, guitar controllers — see Frets on Fire vs Fortnite Festival.
On a phone, a keyboard-style rhythm game is a compromise in any case: touch timing and small screens make precise play hard. A cheap Android tablet with a controller, or a PC, is a better setup than forcing a desktop game onto a phone.
